Oligonucleotide Therapeutics Society

The Oligonucleotide Therapeutics Society (OTS) Annual Meeting is a forum for the realization of the Society's mission and goals, to foster academic and industry-based research for the development of oligonucleotide therapeutics. The meeting serves as a continuum for dialogue and discussion among industry, academia and health authorities to educate and share progress on the basic research and therapeutic development of oligonucleotides, including antisense, siRNA, immunostimulatory and aptamer applications, RNA/DNA editing and mRNA therapeutics as well as basic RNA research. Leaders in the field from across the globe alongside students (the Next Gen) will present in both general session and poster sessions.

The Oligonucleotide Therapeutics Society (https://www.oligotherapeutics.org) is an open, nonprofit forum to foster research and development of oligonucleotide therapeutics. Based in San Diego, OTS offers a platform for interaction of academia and industry interested in application of oligonucleotide based therapeutic platforms to find cure for various diseases. Oligonucleotide therapeutics are now being used to successfully treat diseases and have the potential for widespread application. Over 100 treatments are in development for common conditions, including cancer and Alzheimer’s disease, as well as rare diseases. Incredibly, oligonucleotide therapeutics have also been used to create an individualized treatment for one single person with a rare, fatal disease.

The OTS Founders’ vision was to bring together the expertise from different angles of oligonucleotide research to create synergies and to bring the field of oligonucleotides to its full therapeutic potential. A new era of oligonucleotide drugs was envisioned that would change the landscape of therapeutic modalities.

The Oligonucleotide Therapeutics Society (OTS) is the premier organization fostering the research and drug development in all areas of oligonucleotide science. Our annual meetings are highly regarded in the field of oligonucleotide research for their unsurpassed scientific quality and breadth.

It has organised 19 Annual meetings across US and Europe, with the 20th scheduled at Montreal during October 6-9, 2024. This is in addition to regular webinars on focussed topics related to Oligonucleotide therapy. OTS has now initiated organising regional meetings and the first one is scheduled to be held at JNCASR, Bengaluru, India during Feb 18-21st 2025. Regional meetings would envisage bringing together the academic researchers and nucleotide based industries in the region with international speakers and industry and thereby accelerate and provide opportunities to integrate them globally for the growth and new applications in Oligonucleotide therapy.
